Save the Children Action Network

A Report for Save the Children

Founded over 100 years ago, Save the Children was the first global organization devoted solely to serving children’s needs. To date, they have changed over one billion lives. The Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), launched in 2014 as a 501(c)(4) organization, is the political advocacy arm for Save the Children, and executes advocacy work for early childhood education. In the past six years, they have built a network of over 330,000 supporters from across the United States, and so far have expanded operations into 18 states. In this evaluation report funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, SCAN looked at their early childhood education work across four key states: New Hampshire, New Mexico, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Bold colors, simple shapes, and a complementary typeface served as the starting point for executing our vision. The playful juxtaposition of faces peering through large numbers resulted in a look that is fun and inspiring, and for added texture and contrast, several elements were drawn in crayon. The end result was a colorful and creative presentation that aligned with their values and mission.
